When in my 20’s all I wanted to do was eat out a few nights a week in trendy and expensive restaurants, host dinner parties, and stay out all night with close friends. I would never think twice about booking a last minute overseas holiday or spending my hard earned money on clothing and shoes.

Now, as I get older, I still enjoy travel and splurging on nice things occasionally, but nothing beats indulging in time to myself. To put it into context, I have raised a gorgeous son on my own, and have a 7-year-old cavoodle.

I have only recently discovered the beauty and healing powers of a hike in nature and continue to indulge in the art of creating and making things. These days I have returned to making small batch ceramics and also learning watercolour painting and mixed media sketch booking.

I keep my life simple, constantly paring back things I own. I choose to live in the city, but that’s because I like to have the white noise of people and everyday life around me. I am trying to live an eco-friendlier life and support small business … sometimes it is going well, sometimes I fall back into the world of mass consumerism and convenience.

But I’m not perfect, not sure I have met anyone that is. But I continue to learn, especially from my mistakes, and evolve as a person.
